Dear Parents,
We were delighted to welcome all of our pupils back following the Mid Term break. Scoil Bhride is a busy place with so many activities happening. Read on to find out more:
Pastoral Theme:
Our pastoral theme for November is “Respect”. We think about how we can best respect ourselves, others and the environment.
Team Hope:
Thank you to many of our pupils who brought in a shoebox for the Team Hope appeal. This is a wonderful initiative. Thank you to Ms Donnellan for organising.
Broadband:
After considerable work by the school’s Board of Management our school has finally been upgraded to broadband. This will make a big difference to the school and to how we use IT in the school. Many thanks to our Chairperson for her tireless efforts in this regard.
GAA and fundamental skills training:
Fundamental and GAA skills training will take place for 2nd and 3rd class over the next 5 weeks. Many thanks to Ms Donnellan for organising.
Visit of Liam McCarthy and Sam Maguire:
We are hoping to welcome the Liam McCarthy and Sam Maguire cups to the school. We have yet to confirm the date which we expect to be over the coming week or two. All pupils are invited to wear a GAA jersey on that day.
Internet Safety Workshops:
Internet Safety Talks have taken place for 1st and 2nd class. They will continue over the next 4 weeks for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. Thank you to Amanda Davis and Symantec for facilitating these talks free of charge for our pupils.
Parent Teacher Meetings:
These meetings take place over the next two weeks.
Science Week:
This week is Science Week. Thank you to Ms O Donovan who is organising science day this Thursday.
Our Garden:
Our garden is looking lovely after the work our budding gardeners put in last week. Thank you to Mr O Reilly and his class for their time on this.
Choir:
Choir continues on Mondays at 3pm with Ms Ryan and Lorraine.
Nut and Kiwi Allergies:
A reminder to all parents that our school is a nut and kiwi free zone. This is essential as we have pupils with severe allergies. Your constant support with this issue is appreciated.
Good news:
Congratulations to Mr O Boyle on the birth of his daughter and to Bernie on the birth of her granddaughter.
