A fun weekend in Camelot!

A fun weekend in Camelot!

Scoil Bhríde was very proud of it’s students last weekend as they put on a great show for all family members and friends. Scoil Bhríde’s pantomime Camelot was great fun and a huge success. Thank you to all the children who took part!! You were all fantastic and it was great fun putting the show together. From the beginning, all the children were always on their best behaviour and always smiling and laughing which makes it all worth while. They put in a great effort to learn their lines and gave it everything they had!! A big thank you also to the Parents Council who organised all the lovely treats and refreshments  for the audience members, and also the raffle prizes for each performance. Thank you also to Art who helped setting up the stage, to Wendy Coffey for the fantastic posters, to Bernie in the office for dealing with ticket sales, emails to parents etc…  and a big shout out to Ms Gleeson, Mrs Durin who helped with rehearsals and the music for the show too ( and to Ms O’Donovan for helping with some dance moves too! ). It’s a lot to ask of people when putting a show together and it was really great when so many people offer their help and support. i.e Teachers and SNAs providing cover, giving up their spare time to help backstage, helping with Artwork for the hall, the list goes on.. It was also great to see some past pupils show their support. Thank you also to Ms Dowd who gave us everything we needed to get the job done!

The Christmas panto has a role for everyone and for students who might be nervous about performing on stage, we are always needing help backstage with props, prompters, light and sound engineers etc.. While the main casting of the panto is aimed at 6th Class, as it is their last year, we are always asking the 4th and 5th Classes to join as part of the chorus and this years chorus were brilliant right from the start.

It was great fun and thank you once more to all those who came and supported Camelot.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
