Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back to our school blog. Today is the first day in October. Our pastoral theme for this month is”Gratitude”. Each day at assembly we will consider what we are grateful for. I myself am very grateful to work in such a fantastic school, with such enthusiastic pupils and staff that are hard working and dedicated .
Parent Council AGM: Next week October 9th at 8pm our Parents Council hold their AGM. Fiona Forman the author of Weaving Wellbeing will give a talk to parents on the programme. We hope to see you there.
Coisceimeanna AGM: Prior to the AGM at 7:15pm there will bean open night for the parents of pupils in Coisceimeanna.
Information for parents: Last week we held our Junior Infant Information meeting. At this meeting I distributed a booklet on how to help your child in infants. The NCCA have guidelines and suggestions for parents of pupils in all classes. Follow this link to see more https://www.ncca.ie/en/primary/resources-for-parents.
Attendance and Punctuality: Please ensure your child is punctual for school and is only collected early in cases of emergency, illness of urgent family reasons. Attendance at school is linked to positive school performance. If your child misses school for any reason please fill in the yellow slip and return it to their class teacher.
Student Council: Our Student Council elections will take place over the coming week or two.
WhatsApp and Social Media: The BOM wishes to remind all members of our school community that no member of our school community (pupil, staff member, parent, community member) ever be discussed on a WhatsApp or social media platform. Any issue arising should only be discussed in the first instance with the class teacher as per our school Parent Staff Communication policy. Any language used about the school or any of its stakeholders should always be respectful.
Nut and Kiwi Free Zone: Please be aware Scoil Bhride is a nut and kiwi free zone due to severe allergies in the school. We thank you for your consistent cooperation with this important issue.
Election: Our school is a polling station for the Presidential election and referendum. As a result we will be closed on the 26th October.
Le gach dea-ghuí,
Julie Dowd
