January Update

Dear Parents,

January has been a busy month for us here as 2020 gets off to a flying start. Read on to find out all our news.

Catholic Schools Week:

Catholic Schools Week starts today. The theme this year is Living in Harmony with God’s Creation. On Wednesday we will celebrate Grandparents’ Day when Grandparents of pupils in infants to second class are invited to visit the school.

JEP and Dragons Den:

Last Wednesday our sixth-class pupils as part of the Junior Enterprise Programme entered the Dragon’s Den to decide which of the fantastic projects would go forward to be entered into the final. There were outstanding presentations which left the Dragons with a very difficult job. After much deliberation the project that was chosen to go forward is Sentimental Seeds. Well done to all the pupils who worked so hard on their entries.  Thank you to Ms Ryan for her preparations and support of the pupils as they worked on their entries.

Peace Proms:

Best of luck to our fifth classes who go to the RDS this Sunday for Peace Proms. They have worked very hard on preparing for this special occasion and are very much looking forward to singing with the live orchestra. Thank you to Mr O Reilly and Mrs Durnin who have prepared the pupils and to Mrs Jones and Lorraine who will attend the performance with the pupils.

Mini Scientist:

Our 5th class mini scientists go along to the national finals this Wednesday. This is the second year the school has been in the national finals. We are incredibly proud of the boys and their interesting research. Best of luck to our boys and their project Sugar, Sweet or Scary?

Credit Union Quiz:

Best of luck to our quiz teams who will take part in the Credit Union quiz next Monday. Thank you to Ms Martyn who has prepared the teams for this event.
