Principal Update

Dear Parents,

Scoil Bhride’s first podcast:

Yesterday the school’s first podcast was uploaded to our website. Congratulations to Ms Common’s class for being the first presenters and producers of it. Check it out on http://scoilbhridens.ie/index.php/2019/04/09/have-a-listen-to-scoil-bhrides-first-podcast/

Easter Bonnet:

Many thanks to the sixth classes who have organised this year’s Easter Bonnet competition which takes place tomorrow. We look forward to seeing the incredible inventions.

Tidy Towns:

This week teachers from Scoil Bhride met Denis and Ollie from Kilbride Tidy Towns to discuss how we can work together. As a start we are looking to put in raised beds to grow vegetables. If any parent would have a source of the materials required to build our raised beds, please let us know. Also, if any parent has ideas please contact the school or the Tidy Towns Committee. This will be an exciting collaborative venture.

Parent Council and Book Fair:

A huge thank you to our Parent Council and the eighteen parent volunteers who organised this years Book Fair. It was an incredible success raising just short of €3000 in books for our school.

School Evaluation:

As you know we are working towards improving standards of Irish in our school. Please check out our weekly phrase on the school website courtesy of our Student Council. http://scoilbhridens.ie/index.php/school-evaluation/

Autism Awareness:

April is Autism Awareness month. Our school has become an ASIAM registered school and classes are engaging in reverse inclusion over the course of this week and last.

Garda Band:

The Garda Band will come to Scoil Bhride on Friday. This will be a very special event. Thank you to Mr O Reilly for organising.

Easter Closing:

A reminder that we will close on Friday at 12pm.

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Julie Dowd
