School Update

Mini Scientist

Congratulations to our mini scientists who were successful in getting through to the national finals of the competition. What an incredible achievement for the boys and the school. Many thanks to both Mr O Reilly and Mrs Durnin who lead the project in the school this year and a big thank you to their parents who supported the boys and attended the regional final with them. Photos to follow on the school website.

Enrolment

Our enrolment policy for 2020/21 is up on our website. It was ratified by the Board of Management and approved by the patron over the last number of weeks. Enrolment week will take place from the 13th t o the 17th of January 2020.

The School of Rock

It’s that time of year again folks! We have taken on a new challenge this year, as our sixth-class steer away from our traditional pantomime to perform a musical of a modern-day era. Rehearsals are underway, lines are being learned, vocal cords are being pushed to the max as Scoil Bhríde’s Sixth Class get ready to perform their very own adaptation of “School of Rock”

Tickets will be available from Bernie’s Office as of Monday December 2nd. This year because of confirmation masses and other commitments, we will have to two mid-week performances on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th of September. I really would recommend purchasing your tickets as soon as possible as there will only be the two shows this year.

The money raised from ticket sales will go towards funding a new sound system for the hall

Thank you to the Parents Council, we will provide lots of refreshments on the night for all the boys and girls, so doors will be open from 7pm to give everyone time to get settled in. For the older, more senior audience members, the Parents Council have not forgotten about you either! Mulled wine treats and tea and coffee will also be available so don’t panic. We are also very lucky to have some great raffle prizes to be won on each night.

Student Council

Our student council have decided that this is a time of year to remember those less fortunate than ourselves. They are going to organise a Silver Snake this Thursday and ask the boys and girls in the school to bring in some coins for this silver snake, no more than €2 is requested. This money will go towards a charity such as Vincent De Paul.

Christmas performances

It is an exciting week next week as our classes from infants to 4th put on their Christmas singalongs and performances. Details of these have been sent by Bernie today. Fifth class will partake in Peace Proms in February and sixth class are of course the stars of our musical.

Parents Council

Many thanks to our Parent Council who are very busy organising many festive treats and surprises for the boys and girls. Last week we had Fresh Fruit Friday which was a huge success. Thank you to all parents who helped. See below for reminder of what is coming up over the next two weeks.
