What a week!

What a week!

Dear Parents,

What a spectacular week it was for our pupils in 5th and 6th class.

Fifth class had their representatives attend the national finals of the mini scientist competition last Wednesday. The boys came in the top 24 of over 7000 entries. How impressive! Their project “Sugar, Sweet or Scary”, gave us all food for thought! Well done boys. Thank you to Mrs Durnin and Mr O Reilly for leading this project.

Last Sunday 5th class attended the Peace Proms in the RDS. This is such a fantastic opportunity for pupils to sing with a live orchestra and as part of a very large choir of schools made up from all over the island of Ireland. Thank you to Mr O Reilly, Mrs Durnin, Mrs Jones, Lorraine and Claire for all of their support of this great initiative.

Last night our school entered two quiz teams into the Credit Union Dunboyne quiz competition. This is the first year our school have entered. We were amazed at how well they have done on their first outing!  Our junior team came runner up and our senior team won at their level. Well done to you all. Thank you to Ms Martyn who gave her time preparing the teams and Mrs Durnin for her support on the night.

Our 6th class recently entered the Dragons Den and showed off their ideas for J.E.P. Congratulations to all of them who presented their projects so well. We look forward to seeing the whole class develop the idea of Sentimental Seeds. Thank you to Ms Ryan for all of her time and energy in helping the pupils develop their great ideas.
