Happy Healthy Heart Day

Happy Healthy Heart Day

Dear Parents,

Today is Happy Healthy Heart day in the school. It is fantastic to see all the pupils dressed in their Valentine clothing.

You might have read recently in the paper or heard on the news the research conducted by DCU in children’s physical literacy skills. You can read more about it here. https://www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland/irish-news/new-study-shows-difference-between-boys-and-girls-in-certain-skills-1.4152202

We are very active here in Scoil Bhride with our Active Flag team busy supporting our junior yard pupils in play activities at yard time. Ms Donnellan also organises our marathon kids programme where many classes will run laps on a regular basis until they have finally ran a marathon. No easy feat!

Our field at the back of the school will soon be in use and we are currently planning how best to use the space in consultation with the pupils. One area that we are looking to develop in the school is a possible outdoor classroom/ sensory garden. If you have any ideas on helping us to build this vision, so let us know. Our fantastic Parents Council have agreed to support us in developing this project.

Enjoy the photos. Thank you to our photographers Ben and Callum.
