Weekly Update

Dear Parents,

Last week was our first full week back at Scoil Bhride, it was fantastic to see all our pupils settle back so quickly after the summer.

This year we are introducing pastoral themes each month and this month’s theme is kindness. We are encouraging the pupils to discuss how we can kind to ourselves, show kindness to others and show kindness to our environment.  I have been delighted to see so many of our senior pupils show such empathy and kindness to our new Junior Infants.

Weaving Wellbeing: After a successful pilot last year we are extending the Weaving Wellbeing programme from 2nd to 6th class. This programme aims to teach emotional resilience skills to pupils.  Each book has a parent information pull out section in the middle of the book. Please take time to discuss the work covered in class with your child. All classes will be covering the Weaving Wellbeing programme this term.

Music Workshops: Following a very successful drumming workshop last term each class will engage in a 5-week programme over the coming weeks. Thank you to Mr. O Reilly for organising and the Parent Council for subsidising the cost.

Student Council:  Our first Student Council last year did an incredible job. This year we are extending the Student Council from 3rd to 6th class. Elections will be held later this month. Thank you to Ms. O Donovan for organising.

Nut and Kiwi Free Zone: Please be aware Scoil Bhride is a nut and kiwi free zone due to severe allergies in the school. We thank you for your consistent cooperation with this important issue.
